Melting #NaPoWriMoDayNineteen

I'm melting
(Not smelting)
Disappearing
(Not creating)

Like chocolate
(I'm running)
Like mallow
(I'm oozing)

I'm solidified
(Outside)
Running away
(Inside)

Like toffee
(I'm crunchy)
On the edge
(I'm brittle)

I'm melting
(Not smelting)
Disappearing
(Not creating)

Xxxx

Linked up at real toads where we were challenged to write about melting without mentioning temperature.  This is my take, I hope it speaks to you.

I love the repetition at the end, but my favorite stanza is
"I'm solidified
(Outside)
Running away
(Inside)"
I can really relate to that, Emma.

Good take on prompt. I too went with the idea of myself melting.

This is a poem to make you smile, and a little hungry for chocolate and candy!

The "crunchy" toffee comment reminds me of how I describe some gruff people: "Crunchy on the outside, but with a creamy center." You know the folks I'm talking about! Nicely done, one of the best of the bunch. Amy

I like how you used the idea of melting and sugary things. This piece has more layers than that, however, as if the lines in brackets are a necessary counterpoint. Well done and viva la
